Apple Announces The Apple Watch 4: Fully Custom SiP

Apple is touting a new feature called "Smart HDR", which seamlessly blends several different image frames into a single image.

Named XS, XS Max, and XR, the first two are iterative updates of the iPhone X. Everything offered on last year's phone - Face ID, OLED display, glass sandwich design, dual cameras - is there, and there's an improved main camera sensor and new 7-nanometre (7-nm) mobile chipset. It's also larger than a double-wide Snickers bar, a Batman toy and the heel on a pair of red 6-inch stilettos. It retains the key advances of the first iPhone X - facial recognition and an edge-to-edge display - but is cheaper while being noticeably larger at 6.1 inches.

"This update really establishes the company's increasing efforts to push the watch as a serious medical device", he said of Apple.

Topol noted that a similar product - AliveCor's Kardiaband, a band for the Apple Watch - offers EKGs and received FDA clearance a year ago.

One of the most interesting new features Apple announced had to do with its new iPhone cameras.

The Apple Watch Series 4 will cost $499 for built-in connectivity and $399 for a standard model. Here are 5 reasons why you should opt for the largest and most expensive iPhone in history. Apple promised a few other improvements over last year's model that will require some real-world tests to vet: better cameras, a faster processor and a slightly longer battery life. Apple has discontinued all of its phones that use headphone jacks, and it's no longer including a lightning dongle in the box with phones to allow you to use a traditional headset. Instead of using stainless steel like the iPhone X and XS, the XR uses 7000 series aluminium for its metal frame.

Some of you might rightly be wondering: What about my not-so-huge hands?

Minutes Jeff Fager leaving CBS after reports of inappropriate behavior
Fager said it was because of a text message he sent to a CBS News reporter who was covering the story about him. Fager previously served as chairman of CBS News and became executive producer of 60 Minutes in 2003.

As with the iPhone X, the new phone has a screen that runs from edge to edge, an effort to maximize the display without making the phone too awkward to hold. "I wouldn't be surprised if it's been scrapped, and they just don't want to say so yet".

Any of the new iPhones can handle the worst rainstorm. Samsung launched its Note line in 2011 with a 5.3-inch phone that seemed comical at the time.

These features will be available to USA customers later this year, but Apple did not say when it would make it to the rest of the world.

It's an engineering marvel that Apple's been able to pack in so much screen, so many sensors and so much processing power into such a small space.

An attendee demonstrates the iPhone XS Max smartphone during an event at the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino, California, on Wednesday. The phone, which costs more than a basic Apple laptop ($1449 in its maxed-out Max configuration), is in many ways becoming a replacement for a laptop - minus the keyboard. On Tuesday, UBS raised its price target to US$250, arguing a growing stream of recurring revenue from services and other offerings deserves a higher valuation than the more-cyclical hardware business. There are lots of tasks you can now do best with apps.

Good luck ever putting it down.
