Are you excited for Switch Online to hit, or are you just disappointed that you'll have to pay to play online soon?

Check back here tomorrow for all of the news from the Nintendo Direct and if Animal Crossing gets announced, please pinch us so we know that we're not dreaming.

Nintendo will throw the proverbial switch on the Switch Online service beginning September 18. Nintendo confirmed on Twitter that the service will officially launch next week, on September 18, and that more information will be revealed during Thursday's presentation. After maintenance, Nintendo Switch Online subscriptions can be purchased. When it arrives next week, you'll need to sign up in order to play the likes of Splatoon 2, Arms, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Mario Tennis Aces online, but Nintendo notes that other games may not require a subscription.

However, according to the publication, a Warner Bros . rep said their relationship with the star "remains unchanged". In addition to Shazam! and a Supergirl project, there's December's Aquaman and 2019's Wonder Woman: 1984 .

You'll be able to play Super Mario Bros. 3, Donkey Kong, Ice Climber, and The Legend of Zelda.

The news came as part of a simple update straight from Nintendo, tucked within the announcement of the new date and time for the next Nintendo Direct video release on YouTube. I'd also recommend the cloud saves for those of you with massive completionist save files (looking at you, Breath of the Wild), so you don't have to worry about them being lost for some reason. Every classic NES game will support voice chat via the Nintendo Switch Online smartphone app.
