Mac Miller Dead Aged 26

Rapper Mac Miller has reportedly died at the age of 26. However, according to reports by TMZ, it is believed the performer died of a drug overdose.

TMZ have reported that the "Swimming" rapper died in his LA home of an apparent overdose today (Friday 7th September 2018), with a 911 call made from his home by a male friend.

In May, shortly after the end of his two-year relationship with the pop singer Ariana Grande, Miller was charged with a DUI after police said he hit a utility pole with his vehicle.

Miller was arrested on DUI and hit-and-run charges in Los Angeles in May.

Miller, who also drew headlines for his two-year relationship with singer Ariana Grande that ended earlier this year, was apparently found dead at his home in Los Angeles. On his debut album Blue Slide Park, which went to number one on the United States sales chart, he introduced himself: "I ain't no hipster / But girl I can make your hips stir".

Grande then added: "I am not a babysitter or a mother and no woman should feel that they need to be".

Miller had been open about his struggles with substance abuse, which he addressed candidly in the short documentary "Stopped Making Excuses". Having already gained a following via mixtapes, touring and singles like "Donald Trump", his debut, "Blue Slide Park", released in 2011, entered the Billboard album chart at #1.

This is not the first time Ariana has been under fire since her heavily publicised breakup with Miller.

After the news broke, Miller's collaborators, former tour mates and friends took to social media to mourn the passing of an artist who many felt had only just begun what was poised to be a rich career.

Representatives for Mac did not immediately respond to HuffPost US's request for comment. "I want to be able to have good days and bad days", he said.

Notable quote: "I just wanna go on tour", Miller tweeted on Thursday.

In his song "S.D.S", he describes himself as a "Jewish Buddhist tryna consume the views of Christianity". "I can't wait to know and support you forever and I'm so proud of you!" Some of those included "You lowkey evil", "THIS IS YOUR FAULT", "It's insane because you really did kill him", "I HOPE YOURE HAPPY WITH PETE", and "You did this to him, smh". I am completely broken.
