Doctor Who Season 11 Premiere Date Confirmed For October


TVNZ has confirmed that the new season of Doctor Who will debut on TVNZ OnDemand that morning (the same time as it airs in the UK). It has been confirmed by the BBC that Season 11 of the long-running sci-fi adventure will premiere in both the USA and United Kingdom on October 7.

The first full trailer for Doctor Who Season 11 was released at San Diego Comic-Con Comic-Con and it got Doctor Who fans quite excited. In addition, the basic cabler has revealed the premiere episode title: "The Woman Who Fell to Earth". America has typical aired Doctor Who on the same date as its British counterpart. But fret not, if you happen to miss the first airing, BBC America will re-air the episode in a special encore during its regular, prime-time spot. "Jodie Whittaker's Doctor is about to burst into Sunday nights - and make the end of the weekend so much more exciting", Chibnall says.

The network's United States premiere will start at the same time as the UK debut on-air on Sunday, October 7th (time to be announced), followed by a special encore in its new regular primetime evening slot. Chibnall had this to say about the show's upcoming premiere.

New showrunner Chris Chibnall suggested that the move to the new time slot is a great thing, as he said: 'New Doctor, new home!

New Doctor, new night. This morning, BBC officially announced that Doctor Who Season 11-the first season featuring the Thirteenth Doctor, played by Jodie Whittaker-will premiere on Sunday October 7.

Whittaker will be joined by an all-new cast of characters in the series, including Bradley Walsh, Tosin Cole and Mandip Gill.
