Eminem announced his album in a tweet, writing: "Tried not 2 overthink this 1 ... enjoy".

Eminem released a surprise album, Kamikaze, months after his 9th studio album, Revival. The Detroit rapper dropped Kamikaze on Thursday night shortly after teasing a song he has on the new Venom soundtrack. The track "Greatest' also interpolates Kendrick Lamar's "HUMBLE.'".

"There's guest spots a plenty on the new LP from the likes of Jessie Reyes, Royce Da 5'9", and Joyner Lucas. The cover art appears to be an homage to Beastie Boys' 1986 classic License To Ill.

Franklin's homegoing will take place at Greater Grace Temple, with the processional beginning at 4pm GMT. Wednesday's viewing attracted thousands of fans and mourners from around the country.

Despite nearly no fanfare from Eminem his name was soon trending worldwide with fans waxing lyrical about the new record.

In true Marshall Mathers style, the new music is a no-holds-barred attack on those the 45-year-old rapper deems unworthy, like new rappers Lil Pump, Lil Yachty, and Lil Xan and even some familiar names like Tyler, the Creator, Drake, Machine Gun Kelly, and Joe Budden. The album also credits Swedish dance-pop four-piece Little Dragon on "Normal" and Bon Iver's Justin Vernon on "Fall" (though it seems he should be credited on the title track instead) and features production from Mike WiLL Made-It, Boi-1da, Ronny J, and Tay Keith.
