Samsung may just be about to pull the veil off the Galaxy Note 9, but there's another Android heavyweight waiting in the wings.

The new photos show a phone that looks very similar to the purported Pixel 3 XL in photos posted to the XDA Developers forum in early June. And before that, we saw some photos of the Google Pixel 3 XL black version. The new leaked pictures don't really show off anything new about the device, apart from the new USB-C earbuds that will come with the device itself. There is also a USB Type-C to 3.5mm adapter as well, and the manual instruction leaflet also includes a Team Pixel sticker.

This morning it would appear that one Russian citizen received a Google Pixel 3 XL in the mail.

Relations between Russia and the West hit a new low, and the U.S. was among United Kingdom allies that expelled Russian diplomats. Investigators believe she found the substance in a discarded bottle and thought it was perfume .

Google has done away with the chunky bezel at the top of the screen for the Pixel 3 XL, but it has replaced it with a rather large notch that takes a sizable chunk out of the display. For the most part, the design and specs in the new photos corroborate rumors we've seen previously. I certainly wouldn't choose the Pixel 3 XL over the iPhone X or the many Android handsets that are far more attractive.

Google's upcoming models for its Pixel series have been leaked extensively and now fresh images show the Pixel 3 XL in a working condition, its retail box, and its internal components as well. And according to this, the device will only have 4GB of RAM.

Does speedy software updates make up for Google's unusual design choices? Leaked photos of the handset show an XL sized notch at the top which is nearly twice as deep as the iPhone X's notch.
