Conor McGregor guest of 'great leader' Vladimir Putin at World Cup final

While attending the World Cup Final in Moscow on Sunday, UFC legend Conor McGregor made sure to greet Russian President Vladimir Putin.

'Today was an honor for me Mr. Putin.

If McGregor and Nurmagomedov actually crossed paths at the stadium, it hasn't been reported yet, but it would have been the first time since the fiasco at Barclays Center in April.

McGregor ended his note with a rendering in Cyrillic of the phrase, "Go, Russia!" Your guess is as good as mine. McGregor made sure to document the moment via social media by sharing a photo in which he was seen in the stands with a plate of food: "Enjoying the World Cup final in Russian Federation", he captioned the post. Both men enjoyed each other's company as they took in the football game.

Like Putin or not, one has to admit his nation hosted a superlative and incident free World Cup...
