Earlier reports suggested that the release of the Galaxy Note 9 was delayed from the end of July to the beginning of August as Samsung's vice chairman Lee Jae-Yong wanted to make the device thinner, by reducing the display cover glass by approximately 0.5mm. Now, it's been reported that the phablet will be launched in Korea on August 24. With a month remaining before its launch, a leaked render of the device has appeared that appears to be an official press render and gives us a good look of the front panel.
The listing on TENAA also shows the same model number, meaning that the handset is almost ready for launch.
When Samsung introduced the Galaxy S9 back in February at Mobile World Congress, there was some surprise at how similar the front of the flagship looked to that of its predecessor, the Galaxy S8. Also, of course, the phone will be running a version of Android 8.0 Oreo.
Twitter’s purge of locked accounts costs Modi, Rahul, Kejriwal followers
By late Thursday night, the president had officially lost close to 196,000 followers as the purge kept on going. This week, the company said it will remove these from profiles, reducing the number of followers users have.
Adding to the development of the story, we now have some leaked images of the accessories and yes! the white color variant too. The phone is also believed to sport a new design with nearly no bezels above or below the screen. If that is the case, the Galaxy Note 9 will arrive a couple of weeks earlier than its predecessor which was released on September 15th a year ago. The listing revealed that the device will feature Exynos 9810 SoC and sports model number SM-N960N. Similarly, Samsung will also have on offer the Exynos 9810 powered Note 9 for sale in several worldwide markets.
For now, we're confined to speculation; going off the Galaxy Tab 3, we reckon the Tab 4 will continue its high resolution screens with a 10.5in 16:10 display (2560 x 1600 pixels). The dual camera setup on both these smartphones consists of one 16 MP and one 8 MP camera, and also supports Portrait Mode that lets you capture photos with Bokeh Effect that blurs the background.
The handset also packs an Iris scanner, heart rate counter, HTML5 browser, Quick Charge 2.0, wireless charging for select markets, voice command, Bluetooth 5.0 and Type-C USB 3.1 cable. We'll update you as soon as we hear anything new.
