Renard Matthews was killed two weeks ago at the age of 18, a very young age for someone to die that his family is still in shock over.

According to Matthews" mom, Temeka, her son was a "homebody' whose favorite athlete was indeed Irving. Temeka Matthews also said her son was a big fan of Celtics guard Kyrie Irving.

While his family tries to deal with the awful tragedy, they have chosen to say goodbye in a unique, but loving way.

With the burial scheduled for Tuesday, hopefully close friends and family members of Renard were able to visit him over the weekend, as his life was celebrated in distinct fashion.

IHOP flips back to pancakes, drops IHOb name
The company went next level and changed its Twitter bio to say: "If at first you don't pancake. pancake, pancake again". Today, it was back on social media, this time to promote a pancake deal tied to IHOP's 60th birthday.

Relatives sent NBC affiliate WDSU a photo of Matthews' body at the wake at the Charbonnet Labat Glapion Funeral Home in Treme.

Sitting on a table at his side is a bag of Doritos, a bottle of Barq's root beer, and a television remote.

There was an XBox One controller in his hand, giving way to the action on the screen; an National Basketball Association 2K showdown being autoplayed between the Golden State Warriors and his Celtics.
