Sweden's Granqvist ready to show England what they missed

It´s a quarterfinal, and a lot of emotions come into the game.

Perhaps much of the feeling that England have struggled against the Scandinavians comes from the memory of Euro 92, where England were eliminated after losing their final group game to the Swedes, with Thomas Brolin grabbing a later victor.

"I believe in being thorough in all preparations, so we have prepared how to deal with extra time or a penalty shootout: we know who is going to take penalties".

Sweden supporters celebrate after their team won the round of 16 match between Switzerland and Sweden at the 2018 soccer World Cup in the St. Petersburg Stadium, in St. Petersburg, Russia, Tuesday, July 3, 2018. "We have had good results against them - so to me it doesn't really matter".

"Their strikers are defenders when it's time to defend, and they can defend in their own box as well".

Hurricane Beryl loses some strength, now with 75 miles per hour winds
In fact, it's only one of two such hurricanes to form this early in the season east of the Lesser Antilles. Beryl has been downgraded to a tropical storm at 11 a.m., according to the National Hurricane Center .

Despite all the pre-tournament jitters, Russian Federation 2018 has turned out to be one of the best World Cups ever, with high drama and memorable goals making for a thrilling spectacle. A side including the likes of Jesper Blomqvist, Anders Limpar, Tomas Brolin, Martin Dahlin and Henrik Larsson reached the semi-finals of the 1994 World Cup in the United States, losing 1-0 to eventual winners Brazil. Switzerland could have played for a week and still not scored against Sweden.

Sweden have scored twice from set plays, while England have scored three, the most at the tournament. I am quite sure about that.

"Sweden have surprised everyone but you shouldn't be surprised because they qualified well", said Eriksson. Italy couldn't score in 180 minutes in the qualifying play-offs.

Eriksson was England boss between 2001 and 2006 but will be supporting Sweden on Saturday.

There was a long spell without a win for England against the Nordic nation, between 1968 and 2011 - a spell of 12 games which saw four defeats and eight draws. There is very little to choose between the two countries historically and another tight game is expected in Samara on Saturday.
