A missing woman is believed to have died after she was bitten by an alligator, according to Florida wildlife officials.

The horrifying event happened at the Silver Lakes Rotary Nature Park, west of Florida's Turnpike, off Southwest 52nd Street, ABC 10 reported.

Davie police Detective Vivian Gallinal said a man saw a woman walking her dogs in the park.

"He could not find the woman that was walking the dogs, so he called for police assistance and we're still looking for her", Gallinal said.

One of the animals had a fresh wound, WSVN said.

The dogs have been turned over to animal control.

The victim's brother was at the scene visibly distraught and awaiting answers.

Although no one witnessed the attack, the proof - one of the woman's arms - was found inside the reptile. Two days before Matsuki was killed by an alligator about eight miles south of the neighborhood in a Davie park, one of her neighbors spotted a different gator (photographed above) on her porch. "I saw the gator yesterday, it responds in a natural way", he told CBS.

Fox News host sorry for calling Trump, Kim 'two dictators'
Fox News host Abby Huntsman has apologized - again - for calling the North Korea summit a meeting of " two dictators ". Fox & Friends airs on Fox News , a conservative 24-hour news channel created by Australian Rupert Murdoch.

"The FWC will be conducting a thorough investigation into this incident", he said.

"This tragedy is heartbreaking for everyone involved", Klepper said.

The couple lives in Plantation and visit the park occasionally. But the witness said he did not see the woman again. "Everybody walks their dogs".

"It could have been one of us", said Patricia Ramsaran.

Signage warning of possible alligators in any area is not required by Florida law, Klepper said. "She probably thought that Lake was [a] safer alternative, after so many gators have been showing up around here lately".

Neighbours told local media that they have seen children swimming in the lakes. An 9-foot, 6-inch alligator was caught and destroyed, according to the state.

A family friend who went to the park during the search for Matsuki said her husband was in Chicago and had been warned by him to stay away because of the gator. Although you are not intentionally feeding alligators when you do this, the result can be the same. "The ranger has told me be careful".
