Jared Leto is reportedly in talks for Joker spin-off movie

What do you think about a Jared Leto Joker movie? This spinoff follows on the heels of the Margot Robbie-produced Birds of Prey feature that will star her Harley Quinn, and this film probably takes the spot that was rumored for a Joker/Harley film that kept being bantied about. Much like how Warner Bros. stressed previous year that that film did not mean Leto was out as the Clown Prince of Crime in the DCU, it would seem Phillips' film isn't off the table either. Yet. Leto and Warner Bros. are reportedly developing a solo flick for Leto's villain, a surprising move, especially given the fan response to Leto's take on the Clown Prince of Crime.

Leto went into full immersion mode for the part, remaining in character throughout the shoot, and delivering his co-stars a series of weird and gruesome gifts. Leto, meanwhile, had little more than a cameo role as Joker in the poorly received Suicide Squad.

There's also a Joker origin movie, helmed by Todd Phillips, which will reportedly be separated from the main DCEU.

Guatemala volcanic eruption kills 25
A disaster authority spokesman said a change in wind direction was to blame for the volcanic ash falling on parts of the capital. Another 20 people have been injured, and more than 2,000 evacuated near the volcano and several cities, including Antigua.

While specific plot details remain unknown, reports suggest the studio is looking to expand the Suicide Squad world with a series of installments. The studio's new direction means multiple actors can star as different versions of the same character without overlap. Many of these performances, like those by Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger, are the stuff of acting legend, but then you get Jared Leto's unusual take on the character which can perhaps only be described as divisive.

It's also not certain if the Joker film would shoot before or after the previously announced sequel to Suicide Squad, which was rumored to start filming sometime in 2019.
