Donald Trump holds summit with Kim (Kardashian West)

The reality TV star and businesswoman paid a visit to the White House to press Trump to grant clemency for Alice Marie Johnson, a great-grandmother doing prison time, whom Kardashian has personally sought to spotlight.

Vanity Fair magazine first reported Kardashian West was due to speak to Trump and his son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner.

According to New York Magazine, Kardashian learned of Johnson's case previous year and has spoken with senior adviser Jared Kushner, President Trump's son-in-law and Ivanka's husband, several times about the case.

Kim K went to Twitter last night (May 30) to dish on Wednesday's headline-generating gathering.

Trump too tweeted out a picture with Kardashian with the caption, "Great meeting with @KimKardashian today, talked about prison reform and sentencing".

"It is now in President Trump's hands to decide whether to save Alice Johnson's life", Barnett said. When I spoke with Attorney Shawn Holley and she disclosed the name of my benefactor, I had to take time to process and digest the news that you were the one she had been alluding to.

Kardashian has been advocating for the commutation of the sentence of Alice Marie Johnson, who is in prison for a low-level drug offense.

Tom Arnold says he knew 'Roseanne' reboot 'would not end well'
At one point she said she believes she was sacked because of fears over a potential boycott of the show's advertisers. Arnold wrote for Roseanne starting in 1988 and married Barr in 1990; the marriage ended in divorce in 1994.

The pardon process is entirely up to the president's discretion, and it is unknown at this point whether he plans to announce a decision to coincide with Mrs Kardashian West's visit. According to Mic, when Kardashian learned about Johnson's story she said she'd do "whatever it takes to get her out".

Johnson has spent more than two decades in prison and is scheduled to die there.

Kardashian West's meeting with Trump comes on the heels of her husband, Kanye West, expressing his support for the president on Twitter.

Perhaps Kardashian's awkwardness stemmed from repeated comments made by Trump about her physical appearance, comments which described her figure and personality in unflattering terms.

She added that getting Johnson's case on the White House's "radar" is a "huge step".

"This is so much bigger than either of us", Johnson wrote in the letter, which also referenced civil rights icon Rosa Parks.

For the occasion, Kardashian West kept it simple and apropos with an all-black pantsuit - complete with a loose-fitting jacket, round-neck top and wide-leg pants - and what appears to be a pair of bright yellow-green Yeezy heels.
