The day is aimed to demonstrate complete solidarity with the Palestinians in wake of Israeli troops killing dozens of Palestinians during clashes and protests along the Gaza border against the United States embassy opening in Jerusalem on Monday - the conflict's bloodiest day in years.
On Wednesday, a senior Hamas official, Salah Bardawil, claimed 50 of the people killed on Monday were its members. Israel and Egypt, citing security concerns, maintain a de facto blockade on Gaza which has reduced its economy to a state of collapse.
According to this logic, Palestinian violence is justified.
After the bloodiest day for Palestinians in years on Monday, when 60 were killed by Israeli gunfire during mass demonstrations that Israel said included attempts to breach its frontier fence, calm and a heatwave descended on the area.
A Hamas spokesman said plans were in place for a mass gathering on 5 June, the anniversary of the first day of the six-day war, in which Israeli forces captured East Jerusalem and the Palestinian territories, including Gaza. The U.S. was among the few countries that came to Israel's defense, backing its right to protect its border on the same day that it countered worldwide disapproval of moving its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

Palestinian security sources confirmed the target was a Hamas base, saying there were no reports of injuries. They also gravely undermined any prospect of a two-state solution in the Middle East.

On Tuesday, Israel's military allowed eight trucks full of humanitarian aid and medical supplies to enter the Gaza Strip.
In a written statement Thursday, Kalin said the occupation of Israel and the Palestinian issue are not problems for the Muslim countries alone but "common problems for everyone who believe in law and justice".
"In the face of all these events, the United Nations has ended".
Gaza protesters have hurled flaming tires, firebombs and stones toward Israeli troops, and tried to attack the border fence.
