Bad if Neymar joins Real: Messi

Brazilian icon Rivaldo has expressed his view that Neymar will "not win anything important", including the Champions League, if he stays at Paris Saint-Germain.

"It would be bad because of what Ney means to Barcelona", Messi told Argentina's TyC Sports on Tuesday, reports Efe news agency.

Neymar feels he is facing the most hard time of his career as the Brazil star battles to prove his fitness before the World Cup. Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the owner of PSG, is reported to be the main road block in their pursuit of Neymar, as he values the Brazilian as a major asset in image-building for the club and Qatar as a nation.

"I have talked to him, he already knows [my thoughts]".

Along with Luis Suarez and Leo Messi, Neymar was part of one of the most feared strike partnerships in the history of the game.

Surely, Neymar will be looking to take Brazil all the way to glory this time with the humiliating defeat handed by the mighty Germans from the 2014 World Cup on the back of his mind.

"Brazil are going into the finals in good form, despite the bad luck they had with the Neymar injury" the Argentinian said.

"They have strong players. I hope it is my cup".

Messi and Ronaldo are without doubt the greatest players of the current era and arguably of all time, but there is a long standing debate about who among the two is better.

The 26-year-old striker underwent surgery on a bone in his right foot in Brazil at the start of Match and has since dedicated himself to preparing for the World Cup. Moreover, Neymar perfectly suits the Galacticos ideology followed by Real Madrid's President Florentino Perez.

"Today, my goal is the World Cup, not to talk about transfers".
