Lucas Glover wife arrested for attack on golfer and his mother

Glover, the 2009 U.S. Open champion, got away with a halfway pounding by making the cut, but all hell was let loose when he missed Saturday's secondary cut after shooting six-over 78. Glover was a participant in the annual tournament.

Lucas told deputies Krista gets violent every time he doesn't play well in a major PGA tournament, according to the incident report.

Krista also allegedly threatened to leave him with their children and that he would "never see their kids again", the report said.

The police report said Lucas was exhausted of these altercations, but simultaneously tried to dissuade officials from arresting Krista.

Deputies noted that Lucas glover backpedaled some of his statements after his wife was placed in handcuffs, saying there had been no fight.

A Greenville, S.C., native, Glover played golf at Clemson from 1998-2001, being named an All-American in 2000 before turning professional.

After officers arrived on the scene, so did Conley Glover's father, and police said he and Glover "continued to ask and change the stories of what occurred to prevent the arrest of Krista".

Krista Glover resisted deputies' efforts to place her in a patrol auto, according to the report, and her tirade continued on the ride to jail.

Krista Glover was charged with domestic battery and resisting arrest, misdemeanors that carry a potential one-year sentence apiece.

Glover confirmed on Twitter there was an altercation.

"Everyone is fine", Glover wrote. He also has played in the Presidents Cup twice.

After the arrest, the golfer posted a message to Twitter telling fans that there was an altercation and asking for privacy on the matter.

"Of course, we are here to provide support to Lucas and his family if needed; however, we are also respecting their request for privacy during this time".
