Norfolk police arrest 60-year-old in connection to string of robberies

Investigators say the victim met with the suspects - 35-year-old Michael Brunson and 32-year-old Christine Holliday - while looking at rental apartments in the area.

At about 6:40 a.m. on Sunday, officers responded to an armed robbery at Transportes Rodriguez in the 300 block of West 21st Street North.

Noel Petrie is charged with one count each of attempted robbery, wearing a disguise with intent, breach of probation, theft of mail and obstruct police.

The South Tongu Divisional Commander, Chief Superintendent Dennis Fiakpui, who confirmed the incident, narrated that the victims were attacked on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at about 10:30 pm.

In a struggle, the victim said he heard a "pop" noise and the two suspects fled the scene.

Per the DeKalb County Police Department, the unnamed suspect shot Diggs, who was asleep in his mother's auto, after missing his intended target.

Although the suspect gave officers a false name, they identified him as Anthony Wilding of Pawtucket and found that he had three active warrants, the news release said. The suspects then made the manager open both of the business' safes, and the suspects took several phones and a large amount of cash, officials said.

A suspect wanted in six jurisdictions on armed robbery charges may have struck again.

The serial number of the firearm is still intact and police investigation into the gun's ownership and origin is ongoing.
