Manchester United stunned by West Brom, City crowned EPL champions

Manchester City won the Premier League as their rivals Manchester United were beaten 1-0 at home by West Bromwich Albion. They may have blown it in the Champions League and last week against Manchester United but it was fitting that they won the title on the back of a strong performance against Tottenham away.

But, the loss to West Brom meant City were crowned champions and Mourinho reveals how he predicted his side would suffer defeat before the game even kicked off.

A 73rd minute header from Jay Rodriguez gave Albion, who appear doomed to relegation, their first away win in 16 outings and just their fourth victory of the season.

United should have had a first-half penalty after Craig Dawson caught Ander Herrera, but complacency seeped in and West Brom showed fight under caretaker boss Darren Moore that has been sorely lacking this season.

United have 71 also with five to play.

Not for the first time this season at Old Trafford United started sluggishly and could have been a goal down after 12 minutes.

"We were masters in complication, everything was complicated".

"I saw lots of people [over] the moon because we won against City".

Ant McPartlin Pleads Guilty To Drink Driving
A witness statement from one of the other drivers involved said that Mr McPartlin's mini rounded a corner "like a rocket". The court was told that Ant had 75mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath at the time of his arrest - twice the legal limit.

And West Brom keep their faint hopes of survival alive, moving to within nine points of safety.

Pogba was substituted by Mourinho in the 58th minute and the player departed proceedings with an air of resignation rather than annoyance at the decision.

Mourinho was asked whether he took off Pogba because he had a yellow card and was at risk of getting sent off. I wouldn't be happy if someone says that I won the title because somebody loses a match.

Romelu Lukaku was twice denied by smart saves from Ben Foster, while Jesse Lingard also came close after his introduction from the bench at half-time.

'City were the best team, sooner or later they would get the points, so no dramas when the best team wins the league'.

Certainly, Liverpool's heroics in both the Champions League and Premier League, swarming all over City for three victories this term, and Manchester United's 3-2 comeback win at the Etihad which delayed the coronation, dented the aura.

United threw the kitchen sink at the Baggies, who have squandered so many leads late on this season. "Eight titles are eight titles and three Premier Leagues are three Premier Leagues".

"I think we were deservedly punished", he said.
