Director Danny Boyle's untitled comedy starring Lily James and Kate McKinnon will hit theaters in the US on September 13, 2019, Universal announced Monday. Sheeran already had cameos in The Bastard Executioner, Game of Thrones, and Bridget Jones' Baby, so this would be a continuation of his push into film and TV.

Ed Sheeran is rumoured to have been cast in a new musical comedy film directed Danny Boyle and written by Richard Curtis.

Sheeran is also friends with director Curtis, whose previous films include Love Actually and Four Weddings and a Funeral, and his partner Emma Freud. An unnamed source close to the studio behind the movie told the Daily Mail, "Everything Ed touches turns to gold". What we do know is that Lily James (Baby Driver) and Himesh Patel (Eastenders) will star in it, with SNL actress Kate McKinnon in discussions for it. He is the biggest hit-maker on the planet.
