WWE superstar John Cena and former Divas champion Nikki Bella have called it quits, ending their six-year relationship and marriage engagement.

"While this decision was a hard one, we continue to have a great deal of love and respect for one another,"Nikki wrote in a statement on her Instagram".

The announcement comes shortly after two other cryptic images appeared on Cena's own Instagram account.

But it looks like all good things must come to an end and although John Cena proposed to Nikki Bella in the middle of the ring inside Camping World Stadium at WrestleMania 33, we won't get to witness a grand wedding between Super Cena and the oldest Bella Twin.

Their relationship was pushed into the pop-culture mainstream after his proposal a year ago, which absolutely tickled wrestling fans worldwide. "We ask that you respect our privacy during this time in our lives".

After the secondary search was completed it was confirmed no occupants were inside as they were not home at the time of the fire. Milan Fire Chief Kurt Mizgier, the first to arrive on the scene, found flames showing through an exterior wall and the roof.

Fans have responded to the breakup with honest sadness, and more than a few wrestling-adjacent memes.

"We were together. I forget the rest", Cena posted on Instagram without a caption.

Bella stars in a reality TV show on E! called "Total Bellas" with her twin sister, Brie.

He continued, "You have two choices". "We work every day on us".

"Like I said, I believe we both have some work to do, and we're genuinely trying our best to work through it, so I'm very happy to say that it's in a situation that we're working through, " he said.
