Ex-FBI chief: Trump 'morally unfit' to be president

In a written statement to the committee, Comey claimed that Trump had asked him for "loyalty".

"There had been all this controversy and mocking about hand size; I can't remember the details".

"And I have every confidence that Jim Comey accurately copied, collected, recounted what exactly went on during those discussions", former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper said.

Trump has shown by his behavior and public comments - for instance by bemoaning how he can't control the Justice Department, that he sees them as symptoms of a corrupt establishment. I can not say that, ' Comey replied. "And maybe another director might have done that".

There is, of course, the supposed 'pee tape, ' but there are other allegations in Comey's salacious White House exposé. Was it a mistake to agree to give Trump "honest loyalty" instead?

As he read over the recommendations from Rosenstein and Sessions, Comey said he thought to himself, "That makes no sense at all". "Yeah, that's fair feedback".

"I decided not to tell him that the activity alleged did not seem to require either an overnight stay or even being in proximity to the participants", Comey writes. But he added that Comey "speaks from a deep ethical place, and he's saying some things that he thinks the country needs to say and needs to hear".

This kind of hedging gets confusing when you're warning about existential dangers to democracy.

"He is morally unfit to be president", he added.

However, Comey told ABC that the FBI opened its investigation into possible Russian influence in the 2016 campaign not as a result of the Steele dossier, which President Trump and some Republicans contend, but when it received information that George Papadopoulos, then a foreign policy adviser to the Trump campaign, had "been talking to someone in London about getting dirt on that the Russians had on Hillary Clinton".

"Possibly", Comey said. "I mean, it's certainly some evidence of obstruction of justice".

In the year 2013, fire-fighters in eastern China rescued an abandoned baby boy from the sewage pipe beneath a toilet. The house is located in a large plot and there are many houses nearby. "We are investigating all possibilities".

Comey sat down Sunday night for his first TV interview since being fired by the president last summer, calling President Trump a liar who is not fit to serve the American people.

While he may not deserve to be branded a "slimeball", as Trump did on Sunday, Comey does risk coming across as a disgruntled ex-employee and someone seeking vengeance for his dismissal.

Another text from Page to Strzok also indicated that the Federal Bureau of Investigation coordinated the exoneration with the Justice Department. His "memos" are self serving and FAKE!'

He said he did not remember "consciously thinking" about the election results as he chose to disclose that the FBI had reopened its investigation into candidate Clinton's email use.

Comey told ABC News that he knew the investigation into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server was going to present a "no-win situation" for him. Talk about a slimeball!

"Unbelievably, James Comey states that Polls, where Crooked Hillary was leading, were a factor in the handling (stupidly) of the Clinton Email probe".

"When the person that is supposed to lead the highest law enforcement agency in our country starts making decisions based on political environments instead of on what is right and what is wrong, it's a really risky position", she said. It was the subject of his first meeting with Trump shortly after the election in which Russian meddling in the United States presidential election was discussed.

And they say honesty is such a lonely word. "It was my great honor to fire James Comey!". "He has no credibility and President Trump was right to follow through on the bipartisan calls for him to be fired".

ABC News also has multiple excerpts from the interview here.

Knowing all this super-secret stuff, and being so above reproach, Comey felt it was his duty to protect the sanctity of the election by blabbing his mouth to the media just before the election itself. It did not become publicly known until after the 2016 presidential election.

The stakes for both men in this argument could hardly be higher.
