The crowd at Coachella was surprised on April 14 as Beyonce reunited with Destiny's Child to perform on stage. She ran through two decades of her hits while ascending a pyramid of bleachers, employed color guard dancers and baton twirlers who moved in precision to every note, and even had a pseudo-college step show reminiscent of a historically black fraternity performance.

Beyonce commanded the festivals' main stage with an electrifying performance and powerful message on feminism and black culture that overshadowed the usually laid-back atmosphere that Coachella represents. They began their performance with their 2004 hit song Lose My Breath which was followed by Say My Name and Soldier.

That's because nothing-no hologram Tupacs, no incredibly uncomfortable Madonna and Drake make-out sessions-will ever compare to the caliber of performance Beyoncé delivered on Saturday night during the first weekend of this year's famed festival in California's desert valley city of Indio.
