Liverpool's Mohamed Salah, Manchester City's Kevin De Bruyne and Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane are among the six players who have made the shortlist for the PFA Player of the Year award.

The other players on the shortlist are Harry Kane, David De Gea, Leroy Sane and David Silva.

The left-back-cum-winger has been the key man as the Cottagers have enjoyed a brilliant season in the second tier, and they look well set to gain promotion, either by finishing second or winning the play-offs.

With five games of 2017-18 remaining for Liverpool, Salah has 29 goals and nine assists in 31 English top-flight appearances.

The six-man young players' list also contains three City players, with 22-year-old Germany worldwide Sane nominated alongside England forward Raheem Sterling, 23, and Brazil goalkeeper Ederson Moraes, 24.

De Bruyne is one of the favourites to win the award, but the goal scoring exploits of Salah and Kane make them strong challengers for the prestigious award.

The inclusion of Sessegnon is something of a shock, with the 17-year-old playing in the Championship.

Salah's closest challenger for the Golden Boot is Kane on 25 goals, and the prolific England star has been nominated for the Player of the Year award for the fourth year in succession.

De Bruyne has been the standout player in the incredible Manchester City side that have stormed the Premier League this season.

The victor for the prestigious award will be voted for by PFA members and the results will be announced on April 22.
