Brandin Cooks traded again, this time from Patriots to Rams

Brandin Cooks is being traded from the New England Patriots to the Los Angeles Rams for a 1st-round pick and a 6th-round pick, according to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. Los Angeles is also getting a fourth-round pick along with Cooks.

On the Rams' end, this deal means you can likely go ahead and eliminate them from the Odell Beckham Jr. sweepstakes. 23 and 31 overall picks in the draft, as well Nos.

Receiver Brandin Cooks was traded from the Patriots to the Rams, the second straight offseason in which he has been traded.

When you consider that Watkins is making twice as much in average salary (or close to it) as Cooks, this looks like a really good deal for the Rams at first glance.

In addition to Cooks, the Rams have added Ndamukong Suh, Marcus Peters and Aqib Talib this offseason. They might not be done wheeling-and-dealing yet.

New England's pick return for trading Cooks was better than what the Saints received previous year.

Cooks fit in just fine with the Patriots last season, posting 1,082 yards and seven touchdowns.

Meanwhile, the Patriots now have two picks in each of the first two rounds of the 2018 NFL Draft. Patriots owner Robert Kraft is well aware of that fact and even admitted last week that New England should "obviously" look to draft a QB.

I can't wait to see what else unfolds from this point forward.

With Cooks gone, the Patriots have a hole at receiver.
