The RJD-Congress alliance is upbeat after a good voter turnout in Araria, Bhabua and Jehanabad and expressed confidence that the alliance candidates will win. In Bhabua Assembly seat, the saffron party is leading by almost 10,000 votes.
AM: After first round of counting, RJD is leading in Jehanabad. BJP is now leading in Bhabua by 2,528 votes.
After eighth round of counting, BJP is leading BJP leading in Bhabua with 19,738 votes and RJD is leading in Jehanabad after tenth round of counting with 29,551 votes. The counting of votes for the Lok Sabha by-election 2018 for the two Assembly constituencies of Uttar Pradesh - Gorakhpur and Phulpur - and Bihar's Jahanabad and Bhabua, besides the Araria Lok Sabha seat in Bihar, commenced on Wednesday amid tight security arrangements.

According to election office sources, a total of 28 rounds of counting will take place for results of Araria Lok Sabha seat bypoll necessitated due to demise of RJD MP Mohammad Taslimuddin.
Giving a tough fight, the Samajwadi Party has overtaken BJP in Gorakhpur Lok Sabha constituency with SP's Praveen Kumar Nishad leading with a margin of 10,598 with 1,19,427 votes followed by BJP's Upendra Dutt Shukla with 1,08,829 votes after eighth round of counting. His wife Rinki Pandey is contesting on the BJP ticket.
