Keenum has ties to former Broncos quarterback and current senior personnel advisor Gary Kubiak having played for Kubiak when he was the head coach of the Texans.

The Broncos had three quarterbacks start games this past season - Trevor Siemian, Paxton Lynch and Brock Osweiler - but it was a bumpy ride on offense as the Broncos were among the league leaders in turnovers and offensive coordinator Mike McCoy was sacked in November. He finished the season with 3,547 passing yards, 22 touchdowns and seven interceptions. The Broncos also hold the No. 5 pick in the upcoming National Football League draft, and now have the flexibility to trade down with a team desperate for a quarterback (see: Bills) or can still decide to take a young arm to groom for the future.

Manning had a spectacular closing chapter in Denver, leading the Broncos to the playoffs in all four of his seasons, reaching two Super Bowls and winning one.

Siemian again handily beat out Lynch last summer, but the Broncos would cycle through their trio of homegrown QBs during a 5-11 season that almost cost rookie head coach Vance Joseph his job. His 67.6 percent completion rate was by far his career best, and it was the first time he attempted more than 200 passes in a season. We didn't play well there past year.
