Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald - Official Trailer

Warner Bros. Pictures' Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is the second of five all new adventures in J.K. Rowling's Wizarding World™.

"Harry Potter fans had legitimate questions and concerns about our choice to continue with Johnny Depp in the role", Rowling wrote last December. People joined Grindelwald because they were exhausted of living in the shadows of the no-maj (they're still muggles to me, but whatever), and they believed in a birthright to be the dominant force on Earth. J.K. Rowling, the Harry Potter author who wrote the screenplays for both "Fantastic Beasts" movies, has since defended the decision to cast Depp on Twitter, citing both Heard's and Depp's desires to move on.

Yates did a great job of differentiating his Potter films visually from one another, so I'm mighty curious to see what kind of aesthetic tone he strikes with The Crimes of Grindelwald. Having escaped MACUSA's custody, Grindelwald is now gathering followers across Europe, "most unsuspecting of his true agenda: to raise pure-blood wizards up to rule over all non-magical beings". It stars Eddie Redmayne, Jude Law, Ezra Miller, Claudia Kim, Zoe Kravitz, Callum Turner, Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol and Johnny Depp.

In an effort to stop him, young Albus Dumbedore (Jude Law) enlists his former student Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) to track down his old friend Grindelwald in Paris.
