Microsoft has boasted of an impressive rise in the number of organisations using its Teams messaging, collaboration and communications tool.

Microsoft officially launched Microsoft Teams team collaboration service one year back.

Microsoft's Slack competitor, Microsoft Teams, is turning a year old this week and to celebrate the company is unveiling some new features today.

The company shared today that over 200,000 organizations in 181 markets use Microsoft Teams, with customers including NASCAR, Macy's, and General Motors.

"Over the past year, Teams has evolved to become the ultimate hub for teamwork", said Redmond. The introduction of Teams a year ago prompted fast-growing Slack to take out a full-page newspaper ad cautioning Microsoft that "all this is harder than it looks".

Her opponent, Raquel Pennington is on a very impressive four fight win streak and most definitely deserves her shot. The showdown between UFC champions Amanda Nunes and Cris Cyborg will have to wait - if it happens at all.

Beyond the Surface Hub and internal devices, the Teams hardware ecosystem now also includes meeting room systems from HP and Lenovo; new desk phones from AudioCodes and Yealink; new conference room phones from Creston, Polycom, and Yealink; and new mobile phone stations from Plantronics.

Finally, Microsoft will soon enable one-click cloud recording, with timecoding and automatic transcription.

Inline message translation-People who speak different languages will be able to fluidly communicate with one another by translating posts in channels and chat. Video callers will be able to blur their backgrounds so their conversation mate's eyes are drawn only to them (or if they don't want people to know they're making the call from their couch). Microsoft says that in the future, this will also include facial recognition.

Proximity detection for Teams Meetings-This feature will make it easy for you to discover and add a nearby and available Skype Room System to any meeting.

Whether a customer chooses to use the Microsoft Calling Plan or Direct Routing will come down to pricing considerations and existing relationships, she added. The company shared today Teams will pick up consultative transfer and call delegation and federation features. The last addition is mobile sharing in meetings, so meeting attendees can share a live video stream, photos, or the screen from their mobile device.
