Android 8.1 Oreo Now Available For OnePlus 5/5T Via Open Beta


According to reports, the open beta program will bring in the much-awaited Android 8.1 Oreo update.

OnePlus has announced the Android 8.1 Oreo support via the OxygenOS Open Beta 6 for OnePlus 5 users with additional new features and bug fixes. However, it is noteworthy that the update, now is available only for the OnePlus 5T beta users only.

The update also brings on board few minor changes.

Notably, the update being rolled out to the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T measure 1.6GB. It also comes with general bug fixes and improvements along with more clock styles for the ambient display. The update brings some cool features to the already interesting smartphone. When it comes to the gaming mode, OnePlus also added some changes here, with new optimizations in gaming mode, for a more immersive gaming experience. It will basically allow users to switch between devices seamlessly.

This new beta is available for the OnePlus 5 and 5T right now, and can be downloaded at the link below. If a user wants to go back to the stable build, then they have to once again do a full install and clean flash, which means wiping off all the data and cache.

Also note, once you migrate to the Beta path, you will continue to receive Open Beta OTAs and will no longer receive the regular Official Stable OTAs.
