Hunt for gunman who 'killed girl aged 4'

31-year-old Bitting finally exited the property with a gun in his hand and aimed it at the auto.

Akron Police are searching for the man accused of firing the shot that killed a four-year-old girl on Friday evening.

The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force and the Akron Police Department arrested Darnell Bitting of Akron, who was allegedly wanted by Akron Police for the murder of a 4-year-old child.

Janaya died in the shooting that happened about 10:30 p.m. on Mercer Avenue near Lawton Street, police said. A woman pulled up to the home with her mother and four children in the auto to retrieve some property inside. When no one answered, she made a decision to smash his windows to gain entry.

Four children-ages 7, 6, 4, and 3-were seated inside a vehicle with their grandmother.

Physicists Create New Form of Light
The newly created form of light can be explained by the example of lightsabers used in the imaginary universe of Star Wars. In order to get the photons to interact, the scientists shone a weak laser beam through a dense cloud of ultracold atoms.

According to authorities, a man came out of the residence armed with a rifle and fired a shot that hit the vehicle.

Authorities say the child was in the back seat of the vehicle. The grandmother -who was in the passenger seat at the time - climbed into the driver's seat and drove away, only to discover the 4-year-old had been struck by a bullet.

She was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Bitting is 6ft 3in tall, weighs 240lbs, and is described as armed and unsafe.

Police are appealing for information on Bitting's whereabouts.
