About a month ago, Focus Home Interactive and Dontnod Entertainment began a making-of series for the forthcoming action role-playing game, Vampyr, with the companies offering fans a peek behind the curtain that afforded some insights into the title's development process.
DONTNOD's #Vampyr releases on the 5th of June for the PS4, PC and Xbox One. In the video, titled Stories From the Dark, the developers talk about the particular approach to narrative, which makes video games a medium unique and different from everyone else.
In addition to the big launch date reveal, the fourth episode also delved deeper into the story. You can watch the latest episode below. Vampyr's exploration, investigations, citizen encounters, combat, and hard-hitting choices are all fundamentally intertwined with the game's narrative.
Shani Davis rips Team USA's decision on flag bearer after coin flip
She got a text from Alan Ashley, the chef de mission for Team USA, requesting her to call back as soon as she could. Shani was one of eight candidates who was up for the honor of carrying the flag during the opening ceremony.
Game Director Philippe Moreau elaborates, saying that the relationship between a player and their character, as well as the direct feeling of control, is unique to games and something he has worked to make special in Vampyr.
Set in London, 1918, you play as a doctor turned vampire who must choose whether to chomp innocent people to increase your own strength. As a Vampyr, you are cursed to feed on those you vowed to heal. Survive and fight against Vampyr hunters, undead skals, and other supernatural creatures.
For all other details make sure to take a look at the official website, and take a gander through the four-part webseries. Unfortunately it's a little out from the studio's previous claims of the game hitting the Spring window as it's finally been confirmed that Vampyr will be available June 5. The downside, of course, is that release dates for games tend to be a fluid thing.
