Nicole Eggert Says Scott Baio Began Molesting Her When She Was 14

Eggert, 46, revealed that when she began on Charles in Charge in 1986, Baio "immediately befriended" her. It takes a while to vet stories that are 30 years old, and we had been doing that - doing our homework - but over the weekend, the key folks, Scott Baio and Nicole Eggert went to Twitter...

Eggert said she lied to protect the show, but she's not lying now. This marks the first time Eggert is coming forward on television to share her story of what she says happened off camera when they were co-stars.

"I had never experienced anything like that before either". Eggert says in the clip. It's probably an important difference because unlike most states, California's age of consent is 18.

In statements before Eggert's interview aired, Baio said he and Eggert had a consensual relationship when she was over 18 years old. While the tweet has been deleted, Polinsky told Kelly that he stood behind what he wrote and was not referring to sexual abuse. It wasn't a hold-me-down-rape-me kind of situation.

Asked if she was a "willing participant" when she and Baio had sex, the actress responded, "I was a willing participant to an extent". "He also was telling me, 'You can't tell anybody, this is illegal, I'll go to jail". That was my delusion, that was my cover up, always.

"I was young, it was shocking playing on emotions and hormones", she explained.

On Twitter and in a 16-minute video posted on Facebook, Baio vehemently denied abusing Eggert when she was a minor. "But I was 17".

A sneak peek of the interview shows an emotional Eggert going over the details of her assault. "She said, 'He molested me as a child and I didn't know any better.' I can vividly remember that statement". She noted that this influenced her 2012 interview with Yahoo, in which she said the two became "really good friends" and that "everything is way more innocent than it was made out to be". He told Megyn Kelly Today that he still stands behind his tweets, however he did not experience sexual abuse and his abuse did not come from Baio.

Eggert also mentioned that three people are backing up her claims that something improper happened with Baio.

Alexander Polinsky, who also starred in "Charles in Charge", told "Megyn Kelly Today" that he had witnessed "inappropriate cuddling" between Eggert and Baio on the set.

During a 2013 interview, Eggert said that she lost her virginity to Baio, but claimed they started hooking up when she was 16 - saying there was flirting and messing around - but the sex didn't happen until she was 17.

"When I worked on Charles in Charge in '88, I sat with you while you cried about that abusive asshole", Carl said in a tweet to Eggert on Saturday.
