My dream was always to play for Barcelona, admits Philippe Coutinho

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp admits that his club had no choice but to let star man Philippe Coutinho move on to Barcelona.

As Liverpool's attempts at squad strengthening continue in the wake of their controversial sale of Philippe Coutinho, the teammates the Brazilian left behind are preparing for Sunday's eagerly awaited clash with league leaders Manchester City at Anfield. He had fantastic games and fantastic sessions, but that's over now.

"We need to show up, that's how it is". "It was clear there was no chance".

"We don't have to think about unpredictability immediately against Manchester City, we have to think about work, but in general there is always opportunity in a situation like this", said an optimistic Klopp.

"It is normal to lose players and buy players and you must always react".

"He did fantastic in the first part of the season after the thing we had to deal with in the summer". If you don't miss him, something would have been wrong when you were together.

Klopp said that he held "a lot of talks about different things" with Coutinho, but insisted it was "clear" that the playmaker had made his decision and that the club had to "accept it". You don't like to see friends go - Phil is a really good guy - and we wish him all the best.

Nadal and Djokovic are both expected to play in the Australian Open , which starts on January 15. Aiava said she'd been in good form physically but, mentally, wasn't where she needed to be.

As reported by BBC Sport, Liverpool will receive a total of £142m as transfer fee from the sale of Brazil worldwide attacking midfielder to Coutinho.

To the tune of The Archies' Sugar, Sugar, Kevin has allayed his fellow fans' disappointment by reminding them of the other players they have on their roster.

Coutinho scored 54 goals in 201 league and cup appearances for Liverpool after joining for £8.5m from Inter Milan in January 2013.

If Coutinho was so highly rated, why did Inter nearly give him away?

"Having been criticised a few year ago, Liverpool's recruitment team has been more astute recently; Mo Salah, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Joe Gomez have proved to be exceptional signings". He is a player of Leipzig, that's what I know and will be here in the summer, that's what I know as well. "I would love to see Klopp sign David Meyler as he is from Cork like me and he's almost as big a Liverpool fan as me".

Though City has won 19 of its last 20 Premier League matches, Liverpool has not lost in the last 15 meetings at Anfield against the Blues. We knew that if we had the ball, they would suffer.
