Models accuse photographers of harassment

Mario Testino and Bruce Weber have been accused of sexually exploiting male models in allegations that date back to the mid-1990s.

Fashion photographer Bruce Weber - already sued over harassment claims in December by model Jason Boyce - was also implicated in a New York Times article on allegations against both photographers.

15 models have come forward with allegations against Weber, who has photographed Leonardo DiCaprio and David Bowie and is renowned for his work with Calvin Klein.

"I remember him putting his fingers in my mouth, and him grabbing my privates".

His photograph of tennis player Serena Williams and her baby daughter appears on Vogue's February edition, unveiled this week - while his other works include the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's engagement photo and a series of images of Princess Diana in 1997 published in Vanity Fair. We never had sex or anything, but a lot of things happened.

Via a statement from his lawyer, Weber defended himself, saying, "I'm completely shocked and saddened by the outrageous claims being made against me, which I absolutely deny". A law firm representing Testino said that it had spoken to "former employees" who were "shocked" and "could not confirm the claims".

"I'm the girl, you're the boy", the photographer allegedly told the model, who said he walked out of the room.

Testino's attorney, Andrew Brettler, said in an email to The Associated Press late Saturday, "We are not providing any further comment at this time".

Ryan Locke, a model who worked with Testino on Gucci campaigns, accused him of being aggressive and flirtatious throughout shoots, adding: "He was a sexual predator". He told the Times that when he told other models he was going to meet Testino for a possible casting "everyone started making these jokes - they said he was notorious, and 'tighten your belt'".

The photographer, they claim, then guided their hands with his own.

"I went at him, like, you better get away", Locke said.

Testino, whose past subjects include Kate Moss, Madonna, Michelle Obama and members of the Royal Family, was accused by 13 male assistants and models of subjecting them to sexual advances.

A former photography assistant, Hugo Tillman, recalled a similar experience - while another, Roman Barrett, accused Testino of rubbing up his leg and masturbating in front of him.

Since the Harvey Weinstein scandal rocked Hollywood, shaking loose countless stories of abuse in the movie business, the dark side of the fashion industry has been cast into the spotlight as well.
