Philippe Coutinho could take the number seven shirt at Barcelona after the club sent Arda Turan out on loan to Turkish club Istanbul Basaksehir for the next two and a half seasons.
Medipol Basaksehir confirmed on Saturday the signing of Turkish midfielder Arda Turan in a tweet from their official account.
Turan appeared in 55 games with the Catalan club, scoring 15 goals.
The two-and-a-half-year loan deal still allows Barcelona to sell Turan during that period if a club makes an offer for him.
Protesters trash a H&M store in South Africa over racist ad
Floyd Shivambu, an MP for EFF , tweeted: "That @hm nonsense of a clothing store is now facing consequences for its racism ". The company apologized and removed the ad Monday, and the hoodie was pulled from shelves as well.
Turan, a 30-year-old Turkish global, made the move to Catalonia in 2015 following a hugely-successful 4-year stint with La Liga rivals Atletico Madrid.
"In that time he has won 6 trophies: 1 league championship, 2 Copa del Rey, 1 Spanish Super Cup, 1 Club World Cup and 1 European Super Cup. This is not just a transfer for Basaksehir, but a transfer for all of Turkey", club president Goksel Gumusdag said in a statement.
But Turan, 30, has opted to return to his homeland to seek more regular first team football.
After his move to Barca, the authorities in the Istanbul district of Bayrampasa announced that they had named the road where he grew up "Arda Turan Street" in his honour.
