'The Handmaid's Tale': Hulu Debuts First Look at Season 2

How do you follow up the success of the first season of The Handmaid's Tale?

Hulu on Friday released the first look at the highly anticipated second season of The Handmaid's Tale.

The first season, which stars Elisabeth Moss as Offred - literally the property Of Fred - just cleaned up at the Golden Globes and the Critics Choice Awards this past week.

Ice jam concerns raised as rain, warmth and snow are forecast
Total snow accumulations of 1 to 4 inches are expected, along with slippery road conditions and areas of poor visibility. One of the consequences of this brutal cold was the development of ice on rivers in the Northeast and Midwest.

"Margaret and I had started to talk about the shape of season 2 halfway through the first", Miller told EW. "You sort of intimidate yourself". "The Emmy-winning drama series returns with a second season shaped by Offred's pregnancy and her ongoing fight to free her future child from the dystopian horrors of Gilead", the streaming service said in a statement. Atwood did, however, have some input about the direction as a consulting producer. "Instead, you just have to keep in mind to try and tell a good story". Detail of the upcoming sophomore season is still kept being under wraps, but showrunner Bruce Miller tells Entertainment Weekly that in the upcoming scene which features a handmaid's funeral in Gilead, "everything from the design of their costumes to the way they look is so chilling". Miller protests. "I just want the viewers to experience it for themselves!" "Lizzie is such an incredible partner on this with me".

Miller says the season will also expand on the lives of refugees who escape Gilead (such as Samira Wiley's Moira) as well as the prisoners who have been sent to work at the polluted "Colonies" scattered throughout America. "She's even better in season 2, if you can believe it".

Season 2 of The Handmaid's Tale is set to premiere on Hulu sometime in April.
