Evan Blass reveals key HTC U11 EYEs specs, renders and expected pricing

With the main theme "Eyes", HTC stated on its official Facebook page today, Jan 12, that the event for its next phone would take place next week.

Although the company hasn't shared any details about the device, we already know a lot about it.

In terms of specifications, the HTC U11 EYEs is nothing but a midrange product with 6-inch full HD+ 18:9 (2160x1080p) display which will use company's Super LCD 3 panel. The device is expected to come in Silver, Black and Red colour options.

Chinese media has received invitations to an HTC event which mentioned the word "Eye". Like HTC's most recent phones, the U11 EYEs also comes with Edge Sense, a feature that lets user trigger actions and shortcuts by squeezing the frame of the phones. Rumors suggested that the company would round out the year with an additional device and a new leak today fully reveals the HTC U11 EYEs. He posted alleged images of the device on Twitter, which leave little to the imagination - check them out below. Thanks to the fingerprint sensor on the back, the top and bottom bezels are now thinner.

Recently, Evan Blass tweeted that HTC will launch the U11 EYEs smartphone on January 15 at a price tag of Yuan 3,299. It will be offered with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which will be expandable via a microSD card. The HTC U11 EYEs is also expected to come in two variants, one with Snapdragon 652 and the other with Snapdragon 660. It is a selfie-centric mid-range smartphone and will go on sale in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan on January 17.

HTC usually brands the device with "Eye" if both the front and the rear camera setups are identical (e.g Desire Eye).

Sadly, despite it being 2018, the U11 EYEs will be launched running Android Nougat rather than Android Oreo.
