Tottenham's Georges-Kevin N'Koudou heading to Burnley on loan

GEORGES-KEVIN N'KOUDOU has joined Burnley on loan for the rest of the season.

The BBC report that the 22-year-old will spend the rest of the season at Tottenham's Premier League rivals - now in seventh place, just two spots behind Spurs.

Burnley boss Sean Dyche had been in the market for a wide player following the long-term injury to Robbie Brady and 22-year-old N'Koudou fits the bill.

On the events that transpired leading up to his move, Nkoudou said that he spoke to his Tottenham team-mate Kieran Trippier, who said all good things about the Clarets, making his decision easier. "I am happy to be here, so thank-you Trippier", Nkoudou told his new club's official website.

"I think it's a big opportunity to play my first minutes this season in the Premier League".

The France Under-21 global has made just six appearances for Spurs this campaign, only playing once in the Premier League.

The loan doesn't include a stipulation to make the move permanent, as Pochettino sees Nkoudou playing a key part in Tottenham's future makeup.

His one and only start came in this seasons Champions League campaign against APOEL where he got himself on the score sheet, scoring his first goal for the club in the process.

But just nine starts later, the midfielder has not found first-team football easy to come by at the North London club. I knew he [Sean Dyche] is a big manager who likes young players and players who go forward, so it suits my character to come here and I am happy to work with him.

It also means Erik Lamela can take his spot in Tottenham's Champions League squad ahead of the last-16 clash with Juventus set to take place next month.
