For a low-level European basketball franchise that reportedly struggles with finances and plays in a small village (10,000 people) and tiny arena (1,700 capacity), LaVar Ball has been a godsend.
And it won't stop ESPN from covering LaVar, who generates interest.
Detroit Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy is also disgusted with ESPN's decision to publish comments made by Lonzo's father. With AP Photos.Julius Randle had 22 points and 14 rebounds, Lonzo Ball added 11 rebounds and 11 assists, and the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Sacramento Kings 99-86.
Following the game, head coach Luke Walton voiced much praise toward Ball impacting the game in more than just his scoring and passing. He made assertions such as, "Luke doesn't have control of the team no more".
Meanwhile, Wojnarowski has also noted that the Lakers may have to negotiate a buyout with Luol Deng if they want to part ways with him because they are unlikely to move him in a trade. "I can see it".
Before now, it was easy for the Lakers to ignore Ball's carnival barking as he attempts to build Big Baller Brand (which on Monday received an "F" from the Better Business Bureau).
To that, we say "Thank you, LaVar".

David Cross, sporting a prodigious comb-over and stomach paunch, is almost unrecognizable as Post managing editor Howard Simons. We're guessing none of them will be dropping by 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. anytime soon.
The Lakers have done no favors for Walton, whose already daunting task of shepherding a young team has been made more hard not only because of the youth and inexperience of the roster and Ball's ongoing commentary, but also the fact that the Lakers have six players either in the a year ago of their contract or with non-guaranteed deals for next season, plus another two - Jordan Clarkson and Luol Deng - that the Lakers would love to rid themselves of to create as much cap space as possible to sign free agents this summer. They asked him to tone it down or come to them first if they had concerns. "Or are they just blowhard loudmouths?"
He's obviously unwilling to cease his criticism and he turned it up a notch in the last salvo, causing the coaching fraternity to rail against him (and the media that publicize his commentary). If you don't believe it, just ask me.
"Luke is my guy", Kuzma told reporters. "Like I said, he is going to say what he wants to say". I hope Lonzo Ball is worth it. In fact, Ball became the first Lakers player since Lamar Odom in 2008 to record a double-double that didn't include points, according to ESPN Stats & Info.
And he can forget about his fantasy of all three sons suiting up for the Lakers.
"Still, with Ball one can never say never, because he hasn't really been wrong yet". He certainly doesn't want to triple Ball's ammo.
L.A. secured its second straight win after going through a nine-game losing streak. Who can forget Magic's 42 points, 15 rebounds and seven assists standing in for Abdul-Jabbar?
Lonzo Ball flirted with his third triple-double of the season, finishing with five points on 2-of-10 shooting, 11 rebounds, 11 assists and five steals.
