The monthly bundle of free games has always been one of the major selling points of PlayStation Plus, and the January lineup is no different. And don't forget to to pick up the free games for December 2017 while they're still available. It makes the pill that is having to pay to play (online) much, much easier to swallow. January's PlayStation Plus games will be available starting January 2.

Sony has announced that the PlayStation Plus free games for January 2018 will include Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, Telltale's Batman, and more.

For a limited time, from January 2 to March 6, PS Plus members can also get PS VR game Starblood Arena for free. The VR-dependent arena dogfighter Starblood Arena is included, and considering many thought it would be better as a budget title, going free should help entice people from the comparatively small pool of VR players. "Attack, evade, and move in any direction as you compete against pilots from across the galaxy".

First up, we have Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.

Meanwhile, Batman: The Telltale Series, which comes from the creators of The Walking Dead - A Telltale Games Series, invites players to "enter the fractured psyche of Bruce Wayne and discover the powerful and far-reaching consequences of your choices as the Dark Knight". Where every choice has a effect, see what it really means to be the Dark Knight. Fans are understandably curious as to whether Telltale's episodic take on Batman will be the entire series or just the first episode since it wasn't specified, though the trailer does suggest it will be the full season.

And there you have it. Tons of gaming to start your 2018 off right!
