Supermodel Cindy Crawford's husband Rande Gerber has revealed that his business partner and best friend George Clooney once gave United States dollars 1 million to 14 of his closest pals. Clooney also assured that he'd paid taxes on all the gifts, and Gerber admitted his friends were simply "in shock".
"There's a group of guys that we call "The Boys.' George had called me and "The Boys" and said, 'Hey, mark September 27, 2013 on your calendar".
Clooney, a humanitarian, gathered his best friends called "The Boys" for dinner at his house on September 27 that year. When they arrived, Gerber told MSNBC's Headliners, they each found a black suitcase sitting in their dinner chairs, each with $1 million inside. "'I came to LA, I slept on your couch".
"I think that's going to be a challenge", he went on, "to constantly remind our kids that being born in one place doesn't give you the right to just ignore everyone else's difficulties". So, it was really important to me that while we're still all here together, that I give back. "So I want you all to open your suitcases, '" Gerber recalled Clooney telling them. Now it's been revealed he's given $1 million to each of his 14 best pals to thank them for helping him. "If Rande doesn't take the million dollars, nobody gets" their money. "Every single one of us", he said. Rande said, "We're in shock".
The Oscar victor reportedly explained to his friends, "I know we've all been through some hard times".
