Lindsay Lohan wants a 'Mean Girls' sequel with original cast

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Lindsay admitted she would be keen to reprise her role in a sequel of the 2004 movie, which also starred Tina Fey, Rachel McAdams and Amanda Seyfried. Most fans wouldn't disagree that McAdams returning as Regina George would be a revelation, but it's especially exciting to hear Lohan gush over her female castmates.

The 31-year-old said: 'I'm here in NY, so Tina Fey better be hiding or I'm going to find her and Lorne Michaels. "There's a calmness, there's a stillness that I didn't have in the past", she added to U.S. TV show Extra. "We had so much fun making it. Mark Waters is such a great director, Tina Fey is an incredible writer, Paramount was great to work with - we all had a blast".

This isn't the first time Lohan has requested a Mean Girls sequel.

Lindsay Lohan is back in the United States as she takes a break from her new hometown of Dubai.

It's true that Fey is pretty busy with, well, a new Mean Girls project. "Mean Girls" the musical is now previewing in Washington, D.C., and coming to Broadway in April. Lohan said to E! News that she was less informed about the movie-inspired musical. I found love working with children now so that's my focus... "I'm so, so curious and excited about it". Fey is now working to take the movie to the Broadway stage in April, but she hasn't ruled out a second round on screen, even though her first response was a firm no.

Techland is still working on the expansion, but you can join in on the action now as part of the studio's Global Playtest event. In a cruel set-up where everyone fights for the survival of the few, betrayal is not a question of "if", but "when".

After a straight-to-DVD sequel was released without her (or Lohan's) involvement, Fey had some regrets.

Fey might not be interested, but Lohan isn't the only one who'd like to see another Mean Girls that features the original cast. Some of her co-stars have mentioned a reunion, including Lohan's on-screen love Jonathan Bennett, who played Aaron Samuels. "I would be totally down to do a sequel".

Fetch never happened, but let's make Mean Girls 2 happen. "And I think that's really important".

And on Wednesday the 31-year-old actress sat down with DailyMailTV's Jesse Palmer to talk about how she's doing.
