Ri had a "talk" with Jeffrey Feltman, the chief diplomat and undersecretary general for political affairs at the United Nations, who paid a courtesy call at the Mansudae Assembly Hall, the KCNA said, without elaborating on the meeting.

The UN Under Secretary-General for Political Affairs met North Korea's Foreign Minister in Pyongyang on Thursday. The talks follow North Korea's statement that the endless military drills on its borders and "bellicose remarks" by top U.S. officials could "provoke" a nuclear war in the region.

North Korean officials rarely brief the media on the content of discussions with foreign dignitaries.

U.N. Secretary General Antonio Guterres had, on several occasions, expressed his willingness to broker talks between North Korea and the global community.

Due to the unstable condition of Yahoo, Verizon chose to buy the search engine company along with all its other subsidiaries. That could work out at around $750 million, plus however much Mozilla is earning from Google as its new search partner.

Feltman's trip is being closely watched to see whether it will influence North Korea to curb its incendiary behavior and draw the United Nations into a role as mediator in the increasingly tense situation, especially between Pyongyang and Washington.

Though Feltman previously worked for the State Department, he is not representing the US government.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and U.S. President Donald Trump, meanwhile, have traded insults and engaged in escalating rhetoric in recent months.

"We have never sought war with North Korea and still today we do not seek it", she said.
