Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police say 33-year-old Megan Stack left her home around 1:30 yesterday to pick up her daughter, Ava, and she has not been heard from since.

Police said it was a serious concern for their safety due to Stack's emotional state and recent behavior.

On Tuesday evening, a man was hit and killed after stepping in front of an SUV on Sardis Road North in southeast Charlotte.

Stack was driving a silver 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe, pictured below, with a paper tag.

They went missing on Monday after police say Megan picked up Ava from school.

The handcrafted long bar, one of three on site, is aptly-named, as at 88 foot it's the world's longest coffee bar. Customers have the option of "tasting journeys" to highlight the roastery's food and beverage offerings.

The incident occurred in the 3500 block of Sunset Road near the intersection of Peachtree Road around 5:40 p.m. Police say the area is a dark and unlit section of Sunset Road.

Stack was last seen wearing a maroon jacket, pants, and black boots.

The mother and daughter were last seen leaving Bain Elementary School at the end of class.

Officials ask that anyone who sees the pair or knows anything about their whereabouts to call 911 immediately.
