Up to three people have been hit by a vehicle in Lower Manhattan.

The incident took place in the area of Broadway and Liberty Street in Tribeca, according to the New York City Police Department.

Police said the area is safe but to avoid it because of the ongoing collision investigation and traffic congestion. The three pedestrians suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to preliminary reports from police. One of the people injured was riding a bike. It jumped a curb during the crash.

A driver was being held at the scene, cops said.
