Only 4 British retailers make Glassdoor's top 50 places to work

Job-hunting site Glassdoor's 10th-annual list of the 100 best places to work across the USA has just been released.

"Ten years ago, employees largely relied on reputation" to determine whether to work for a company, says Scott Dobroski, head of Glassdoor's awards program.

Job seekers today have access to more information about the day-to-day experiences of a company's workforce through social media, as well as the values and interests of its executives.

Based on employee reviews, the 2018 Best Places to Work in Canada takes into consideration staff satisfaction, company culture, benefits and work-life balance.

Many Facebook employee reviews now on Glassdoor's site explained the advantages of working at the social network include good work-life balance, a very open and transparent work culture, and the opportunity to work alongside smart colleagues they can learn from. The final list is compiled based on Glassdoor's proprietary algorithm, and takes into account quantity, quality and consistency of reviews.
