Johanna Konta hires Maria Sharapova's former coach Michael Joyce

British No 1 Johanna Konta has confirmed a big-name signing as her new coach, as befits a player ranked just inside the world's top 10.

"Michael is a fantastic coach with a great pedigree", said Konta.

"2017 has been unbelievable but I feel like there is so much more to come".

Sport reported in November that talks were ongoing to appoint the 44-year-old American.

Beador got emotional on a November taping of " Watch What Happens Live " when she opened up about her relationship with David . The TV personality filed the documents at the Orange County Superior Court on Friday, citing irreconcilable differences.

"Our first tournament together will be the Brisbane International and the plan is for Michael to travel with me full time through 2018". After a rocky midseason, Konta and Fissette parted ways in order for her to attempt a fresh start. Donna Vekic snapped up Beltz.

During that successful period, which extended from 2004 to early 2011, Sharapova won both her hard-court grand slam titles - in NY and Melbourne - while also climbing to No 1 in the world. Now, she aims to rebuild herself alongside Joyce. So the opportunity was a no-brainer. She also has strength and conditioning coach Gill Myburgh, physio Milly Mirkovic (longtime physio for the LTA) and mental coach Elena Sosa on her payroll. It would be great if it became a trend.

Konta, who has not played since October because of a foot injury, climbed as high as fourth in the world in 2017.
