This would be annoying if the message was long or you wanted to do something else while the message was being recorded.

A WhatsApp update for iPhone is here that packs two new features - the ability to watch YouTube videos directly within a conversation, and, the ability to lock recording so users can record a voice message without holding the button down. The feature notably comes with picture-in-picture (PiP), which means that the users can keep watching the YouTube video in a minimised window even while switching through chats.

Meanwhile, you can download the latest version of WhatsApp for iOS via the App Store. According to online portal WeBetaInfo, WhatsApp's new feature called Locked Recording allows users to record longer audio files and they don't have to press and hold the microphone button for the entire duration of the audio recording, anymore. According to WABetaInfo, the in-app YouTube video feature on WhatsApp is now disabled, and might be activated by later from the servers.

WhatsApp's new updates have again proven beneficial with the messenger previously launching live location updates that let users track others in real-time along with an update that let users delete sent messages. "When recording a Voice Message, just swipe up to lock recording so you can continue to record without keeping your finger down".
