Tusk made the remarks during the 40th ASEAN-EU Commemorative Summit at the Philippine International Convention Center in Manila.
"India assures the ASEAN of its steady support towards achieving a rules-based regional security architecture that best attests to the region's interests and its peaceful development", he said.
Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar on Monday said that the meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump lasted for about 45 minutes during which both leaders discussed on a host of issues including terrorism and trade.
"We are committed to curtailing the threat of terrorism and violent extremism through information sharing and law enforcement cooperation, including through our Southeast Asia Aviation and Border Security program, as well as strengthening data exchange with Interpol", it added.
"Be it in the fight against piracy, against illegal and unregulated fishing or any other type of transnational criminality at sea, the European Union has a strong record and know-how that we are sharing with ASEAN partners", Tusk said.
"The meetings were already running beyond schedule so, to avoid further delaying the ASEAN-UN Summit, it was decided that SFA (Cayetano) represent the President while he was meeting bilaterally with the other leaders", he said. However, several Asean members including Vietnam, the Philippines and Brunei have counter claims.
