The first trailer for FX's follow up to the smash hit The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story aired tonight during the American Horror Story: Cult finale, and things are looking good - and awfully bloody - for Season 2 of the anthology.

The preview introduces Edgar Ramirez and Darren Criss as Italian fashion designer Gianni Versace and Versace's killer, Andrew Cunanan.

"This world is wasted on me", Criss says as Cunanan.

The important thing to remember about The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story is that it sounded, and initially even looked, kind of bad.

Marquise Goodwin Says 'Never Stop Believing' After Death of Infant Son
The 49ers have a bye week and don't have to return to practice until November 20. "I was so amazed. Goodwin explained to NBCSports that it was his wife's decision that he play in the game that day.

The Assassination of Gianni Versace features Edgar Ramirez as Gianni Versace, Penelope Cruz as his sister Donatella. "Homophobia particularly within police departments that refused, in Miami, to put up Wanted posters, even though they knew that Andrew Cunanan was responsible for many of these killings and was probably headed that way". Meanwhile, Cruz plays an extremely convincing and extra Donatella Versace, but the main draw here is obviously Ricky Martin, who plays Gianni's boyfriend Antonio D'Amico.

The show undeniably delves into sticky, still sensitive territory, but Murphy has said he's looking to focus on much more than the glamour and gossip of the Versaces by delving into how the murder was affected by the narrative surrounding sexuality and homophobia at the time.

FX has released the trailer for The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story. We're not just doing a crime, we're talking about a crime within a social idea.

The new season will premiere January 17 on FX.
